| The instrument caters to individual preferences. It is unique in providing a wide range of flexibility in adjustments while maintaining "butter" smooth precision in movements. The syringe can be swung forward or backward between inseminations. This is convenient for semen collection or when changing queens. | |||||
| The heights of the hooks and syringe are vertically adjustable along the support posts and horizontally along the base of the instrument. The queen mounting plate is also adjustable horizontally. The queen holder assembly is angled for ease of alignment and has the convenience of being easily removed from the instrument between inseminations if desired. The instrument is also easily disassembled for transport. Ball and socket joints control hook movements in all directions with accurate precision. | |||||

| A choice of the sting hook or the push button forceps is available. The perforated sting hook is used to thread the queen's sting. The specially designed forceps has push-button control and fit into the hook holder.
The syringe is held in a micro-manipulator with rack and pinion lateral drive. Finger knobs controls enables fine three dimensional movement and control of the syringe angle. The piston type syringe uses capillary tubes drawn into a tip. The tip and semen storage tube are one piece with a capacity of 50 µl to 60 µl. The Harbo large capacity syringe can also be used with this instrument. |
